First, this program was very instrumental in allowing us to experience not only Japanese culture but also Indonesian and Chinese cultures through interaction with international members. We were very impressed with the kindness displayed by the Japanese people. Many members of the nursing college of Chiba University volunteered to work with us, and even though it posed a hardship for them to accompany us due to the hot weather, they were exceptionally kind and polite.

We were also able to see the development of the nursing college of Chiba University and discovered elements it has in common and ways in which it is different from the nursing college at Seoul National University. It was interesting for us to compare the two universities. Because we share many things in common, we could understand our similarities as neighboring countries.

We also learned how the Japanese society is dealing with its “super aging society,” especially when we visited the hospital psychiatric ward. In particular, this program was a valuable opportunity for us to make international friends. We did not experience any problems in communicating with other country members and felt confident while speaking English and sharing our opinions freely. Moreover, we met numerous students from other Asian countries who are studying abroad, sparking our interest in studying abroad when we become graduate students.

We appreciate every effort Chiba University made on our behalf, and we enjoyed every program you prepared for us. We hope this program will continue in the future.

Finally, we hope that every participant had an enjoyable and memorable time at Chiba, as we from Korea did, and we look forward to meeting again someday as leaders in the nursing field. Thank you!
